About me

 Hi I’m Avery. I am 5’9 and have always been tall my entire life! I love the color pink and my favorite animal is a pig. I love working out and online shopping. I am very excited to be studying Elementary Education at Florida state! Go Noles! 

Technology has been a big part of my school experience. I have used a computer for a lot of my school work these past five years. I feel very comfortable working on a computer/ tablet. I am usually good about problem solving without any help. I haven’t taken a computer class since 8th grade so it’s been a long time.  But I am excited to be refreshing my brain on computer technology again!

I didn’t know what PLN ( personal Learning Network)  was until today but I realized I’m in a couple without even knowing it. I am a big social media person and Tik Tok has suddenly become a big hit. I personally use Tik Tok to learn lots of things like recipes, outfit ideas, and even future wedding plans for down the line. I love that I can save the videos in to different folders based on the topics of the videos. I also am a person who needs to write things down so in my room I have a white board to make sure I don’t forget any goals or things I need to do.

    Hi Avery! The color pink is also one of my favorites. My brother has a pet pig, and I think it is so cute. I think it is super smart and helpful to write things down on a whiteboard, and I may start doing that as well.

Blog 9 covid, OER and PowerPoints

When covid happened I was a freshman and high school. It was March of 2020 and I was going on vacation and then we were told we weren't going to be able to return to school. We started doing online school where the teachers would just post assignments for us to complete and we would do them by the end of the week. It was very easy assignments so I feel like I didn’t learn a ton the second semester. One thing I liked was that I was with my family but it also got boring after a while. My routine was all over the place. I think if I’m a teacher and their is distance learning I can help my students by making sure the assignments are fun and even maybe hold zoom calls so students don’t feel behind and feel confused on assignments.  The OER is basically allowing people to use your resource for a greater purpose. They are educational resources that are open to the public. They can bounce ideas off of them, maybe revise them into their own new idea or even change some factor and remix it. ...
