Teaching through technology

 1. I haven’t really ever used twitter so I am not very familiar with it. I am very familiar with instagram and use it all the time. I can use instagram to follow other teachers who may be just in the beginning of their career or others who are far into their career. I can get inspiration for my classroom or even just things they have learned being a teacher over time. I find it beneficial because it is easy to use and I can look up almost anything and get tons of ideas.

2. As time goes on the digital divide is getting smaller and smaller as technology becomes more apparent for everyone. The digital divide affects students in many ways. One thing that is affected is homework and assignments. This happens when students are required to do work at home that is online. This may be a problem for students who don’t have internet access at home. This may cause students to have to go to the library to get a computer.  Some causes of the digital divide are where you live. You may not have access to the internet. Another could be a cultural and language barrier especially for that young of an age. Students may not know how to translate information. This will affect my teaching strategies because I will have to be careful not to exclude anyone from the cultural divide and make sure everyone has internet access and knows how to complete the assignment.

3. One source I remember using a lot was khan academy. I believe this is a great tool to use for some homework not all the time but just to switch it up a little bit. This can help students track how well they are doing on each topic and see if they need more practice or not. I can also look at the students' accounts and see if they are doing well or struggling with a topic. Another software tool I would like to use is Nearpod. This allows me to have interactive lessons with my students so they can participate during lessons and be engaged.
